Located about thirty miles from Tampa, Florida, nature lovers and outdoor adventurers will find plenty to explore and enjoy at Alafia River National Park. Alafia is a wonderful place to camp, hike, cycle, or just visit for a picnic to soak up the picturesque scenery.

Once the site of a now defunct phosphate mine, Alafia River’s fascinating topography results in some of Florida’s most radical elevation changes and unique terrain. the park’s twenty miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails give you the chance to explore its natural beauty to your heart’s content, and keep an eye out for wildlife. A small tributary flows through the park, resulting in over 30 lakes, some of which are available for boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.

The park sports a full service bike shop and a full facility campground to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Alafia River also hosts approximately twelve geo-caches for kids and adults alike to enjoy tracking down.
